Vallejo is the largest city in Solano County, California, and is located in the northern part of the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is situated on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay. Vallejo is named for General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo. It is the first permanent home of California’s state government and is the home of the first naval ship building and repair facility on the west coast.
